Michael J. Carrico, 75 years old, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, July 27, 2022 peacefully at his home from natural causes. Michael was born on September 26, 1946 in South Bend to the late James A. and Therese A. (Zeithaml) Carrico. He has remained a lifelong resident. Michael was the owner/operator of Dixie Way South Antiques. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War with the United States Navy. Michael is survived by his four sisters, Maura (the late Paul) Sedgeman of New Boston, MI, Margaret “Polly” (Greg) Schmitt of Green Bay, WI, Mary Ann (Tom) Padberg of South Bend, and Marie (Joe) Kerbleski of Chicago, IL; and his brother, Matthew (Debbie) Carrico of Mt. Vernon, Iowa. Michael is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Along with his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Carrico. Michael was a kind, good man who was loved and will be missed. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. A prayer at the end of the visitation will conclude the evening. A private graveside service will be held in the Spring of 2023 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Michael J. Carrico may be donated to Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, P.O. Box 2528, South Bend, IN 46680.
