Mary Lou Sulentic
Aug. 14, 1939 - Aug. 17, 2018
SOUTH BEND, IN - Mary Lou Sulentic of South Bend, IN went to be with the Lord Friday morning on August 17, 2018. She was born to John & Lucy Getha on August 14, 1939. She attended Mishawaka High School. On December 24, 1964 she married Thomas Sulentic in Elkhart, IN; he preceded her in death on May 6, 2003. Mary retired from the A.M. General Corp on September 1, 2001, after 26 years of service. She is survived by her children, Steve (Donna) Sulentic of North Liberty, IN, Craig (Ramona) Sulentic of Burnsville, MN, Thomas (Paula) Sulentic of South Bend, IN, and David (Theresa) Sulentic of South Bend, IN: grandchildren: Steve Jr., Michael, Christina Faith, Sarah, Nathaniel, Rebecca, David, Desiree, and Levi Sulentic; Nicole, John David, and Daniel Snyder; Bradley Buck, Jeremy Rhoton, and Dylan Giles. Also surviving are many great-grandchildren. Mary is also survived by one brother, Charles Leroy Getha. Also preceding her in death are three children, Cindy Sulentic, Marsha Snyder, and Dan Beauprez; two brothers, William and Fred Getha; and two sisters, Minnie Weimer and Ann Grunwald. Mary was a member of Christ the King Church in Clay Township. Mary was a great wife and mother. Everyone always came first to her. She loved everyone and there wasn't anything she wouldn't do to make the lives of the ones she loved better. Even the complete strangers her sons would drag home she treated like family. Everyone was welcome in her home and she would feed them if they were hungry. She made every holiday and birthday special, even when she was sick and battling cancer. Mary was a very hard and dedicated worker. She was only late one time in 26 years at A.M. General. She only had one speeding ticket dating back to 1965 (LOL). She was a fantastic cook and always made way too much food so she could wrap up plates of food with rolls of plastic wrap covering them to send home with her family or friends. Her family was her life. There are not enough words to describe this kind and loving person. The family would like to thank Paul and his entire staff at the Darden Home Healthcare facility in South Bend for caring and loving our mother the way they did. Mom, thank you for everything you have done for us. Your work is done here and now it is time to enjoy an eternal life with Christ, being pain free and in paradise forever! Visitation for Mary will be on Monday, August 20, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, IN. A Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 10:00 am in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church in Mary's honor. Online condolences may be left at www.kaniewski.com. Published in South Bend Tribune on Aug. 19, 2018
