SOUTH BEND - Siegfried “Ziggy” Joseph Martens, 83, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at home. Ziggy was born on March 29, 1934 in Hansbeke, Belgium to Raymond and Andrea Martens. On September 6, 1969 he married Donna Miller in Michigan City, IN. Donna survives along with their son, Paul and his wife, Kara of Madison, WI; also surviving are his sisters, Edith Chamberlin of Swansea, IL and Gabrielle (Jim) Traxler of Evanston, IL and many nieces and nephews. Ziggy was a Pipefitter working at AM General in Mishawaka before he retired. He was a Veteran of the United States Army; a member of the Pipefitters Local Union and enjoyed biking. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 27 from 4 to 7 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, in Christ the King Catholic Church, South Bend. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
