Philip A. Barbera, 69, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 8:53 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022, with loved ones at his side in Memorial Hospital. Philip was born on January 7, 1953, in Bethesda, Maryland to William A. and Doris J. (Thomas) Barbera. On November 28, 1988, in South Bend, Philip married the love of his life Carolyn Jean Marshall. Carolyn preceded Philip in death on October 6, 2007. Philip was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael Barbera. Philip is survived by three sons, David A. (Mary) Barbera and Jonathon A. Philip loved his cats, Lucy and Slater and spending time with his family and grandchildren more than anything else. He enjoyed the outdoors while boating, fishing and gardening. Philip was an avid fisherman and cyclist. He especially enjoyed sharing his passion for those activities with his sons and granddaughters whom will cherish the many memories of their adventures made together with their beloved father and grandfather. Philip also found immense joy in attending both his sons John and Joey’s football games at Mishawaka High School and would often be found somewhere in the stands cheering them on and gleaming with pride. Cremation will take place and there will be a celebration of life at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home - Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka is assisting the family.
