Apr. 28, 1944 - May 22, 2012 MISHAWAKA - Jeanette A. (Kazmierczak) Nye, 68, of Mishawaka, IN (formerly of South Bend) passed away at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, 2012, in her home. Jeanette was born on April 28, 1944 to the late Alfred G. and Phyllis E. (Mroz) Kazmierczak in South Bend, IN and was a lifelong area resident. She attended St. Mary's Campus School until 5th grade, Christ the King Catholic School from 6-8th grade, and graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1962. Jeanette was employed as a Registered Nurse, working at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center for 15 years, Elkhart General Hospital for 4 years, and then Memorial Hospital for 15 years. On August 8, 1964, as Jeanette A. Kazmierczak, she married H. Stephen Nye in South Bend, IN. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Nye of Mishawaka, IN; son, Todd (Rochelle) Nye of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, McKayle and Cameron Nye; a sister, Barbara (Ronald) Ryback of South Bend, IN; and ex-husband, H. Stephen Nye of South Bend, IN. Jeanette was a member of Christ the King Parish. She was involved with the YMCA Indian Guide Program for many years and was an active volunteer for Cass County Michigan 4-H, where she also served on the board of directors. Jeanette was an avid boat owner and captain, and a warm and loving mother and grandmother. Visitation will be from 4 - 8 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Cremation will follow. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery at a later date.
