Harry A. Barczykowski, 92, of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 5:55 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, in Memorial Hospital. Mr. Barczykowski was born on Nov. 17, 1911, in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident. He retired on August 31, 1974, from the Bendix Corporation. On Nov. 29, 1952, in South Bend, he married Dorothy W. Szumski, who survives. Also surviving is his sister, Louise Marshall of South Bend; and his brother, Matthew (Lucille) Barczykowski of South Bend. Preceding him in death were his five sisters, Florence Taberski, Severine Cholasinski, Veronica Zakrocki, Evelyn Wieczorek, Helen Taberski; and his four brothers, Sylvester, Victor, Benedict and Leonard Barczykowski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in St. Hedwig Church. Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Mr. Barczykowski was a member of St. Hedwig Parish. He was a World War II Army veteran serving in the infantry, and was also a Staff Sergeant Instructor from 1942 until 1947 at Camp Blanding, Florida.
