Eugene Lonzo, 93, a lifelong resident of South Bend passed away on Tuesday November 29, 2022, at his home. Eugene was born on June 20, 1929, to the late Frank and Eva (Luke) Lonzo. He spent 30 years as an Operating Engineer with Walsh and Kelly, retiring in 1994. Eugene married Doris Jean Hans on July 10, 1948, in South Bend. They shared 74 years of marriage. Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Doris Jean Lonzo, his daughter Connie (Roger) Taylor of South Bend, sons; Richard (Jeanne) Lonzo of Granger and James Lonzo of South Bend. 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren also survive. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Richard Lonzo. Visitation for Eugene will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday December 5, 2022, at the Palmer Funeral Homes-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S Michigan St. South Bend. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
