Michael J. Ciesielski, 65 years old, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at his residence in South Bend. He was born on February 5, 1958 in South Bend to the late Joseph and Loretta (Brenda) Ciesielski. On September 30, 2000 in South Bend, Mike married the love of his life, Joyce Ness, who survives. Along with his loving wife, Joyce, those left to cherish the memory of Mike are his son, Brandon (Janet) Ness; randdaughter, Ellie Ness; sister, Susan (Steven) Rook; nieces, Ashley (Melisa) Krueger-Rook and Alison (Billy) Balmer; great-nieces, ReKiyia Krueger-Rook and Kennedy Balmer; great-nephew, Kyrie Krueger-Rook; brothers-in-law, Ray (Nue) Ness and Daryl (Tarrie) Ness; nieces, Pat Ness, SueRea Ness, Angel Ness and Amber (Clint) Rasler; nephews, Rufus Ness and Darrick Ness; great-nieces, Mava Moore and Payton Rasler; and great-nephews, Kessle Rasler and Abe Nevarez. Mike is also survived by many extended family members. Mike proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was a proud Shellback. He loved to spend as much time at the beach as he could, especially at Jean Klock Park in Benton Harbor. Mike also enjoyed bowling and golfing with his wife and friends, walking his dogs and enjoying the outdoors. He was an avid Notre Dame Football, White Sox, and Chicago Bears fan. Mike also loved to travel, leaving only four states unvisited. Above all he loved his family dearly. Friends and family will be received from 3:00 pm-7:00 pm Friday, February 24, 2023 at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 25, 2023 in the Funeral Home with visitation starting at 9:00 am. Committal with military honors will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Donations in honor of Michael J.
