SOUTH BEND - Rosanne M. Egyed, 74, following a brief illness, quietly passed away in her home on Friday, July 18, at 10 am surrounded by family and friends. Rosanne was born on April 22, 1940, in South Bend, to the late Edward and Sophie (Chmielewski) Rzeszewski. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Egyed; and son, Christopher Egyed. On June 30, 1962, she married Joseph S. Egyed. She is survived by her children, daughter, Lyndelle Egyed (Lauren Kester) of Bristol; son, Steven (Anita) Egyed of South Bend; granddaughter, Stephanie Egyed of South Bend; and brothers, James (Pat) Rzeszewski and Paul (Billie) Rzeszewski. Rosanne, graduated from Central High School. She enjoyed going to the casino and was very active in Little League as a coach and umpire. She also loved watching her granddaughter play volleyball and enjoyed teaching her how to cook. Rosanne was known to many as the "Pierogi Lady"; her pierogis are well-known in South Bend and many states as people would come and take them home, especially around the holidays, to enjoy with family and friends. Rosanne was a friend to all and willing to help everyone whenever the need arose. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Memorial Hospital's 9th floor. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm today, July 20, 2014, AND 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, July 21, 2014, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
