OBITUARY from South Bend Tribune
Mrs. Stephania Golba, 90, formerly of 229 N. Hawthorne Drive, died at 11:20 p.m. Friday in Cardinal Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was formerly employed in the dining halls at the University of Notre Dame. Born on March 10, 1893, in Poland, she had lived in the South Bend area for the past 70 years, coming from Poland. On Jan 29, 1916 in South Bend as Stephania Drazgowski, she married Ignatius Golba, who preceded her in death on July 29, 1976. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Genevieve Dalka of South Bend; a son Leonard V. of South Bend; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. A son, Edward, also preceded her in death on Sept 27, 1983. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Casimir's Catholic Church, with Rev. Howard A. Kuhns, C.S.C., pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 this evening. Mrs. Golba was a member of the Polish Alta Mater. Memorial contribution may be made to St. Casimir's Catholic Church Building Fund.
