NEW CARLISLE - Irene H. Sipotz, 91, passed away Saturday. Irene is survived by a daughter, Judy (Lee) Van Paris; and son, Joseph (Judy) Alexander. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm Tuesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, New Carlisle. NEW CARLISLE - Irene H. Sipotz, 91, of New Carlisle, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2010, in Miller's Merry Manor, New Carlisle. She was born July 4, 1919, to the late Stazy Sr. and Sadie (Wroblewski) Zelasko. On February 10, 1945, she married Joseph Sipotz, who preceded her in death on December 28, 1996. Also preceding her in death were four sisters, Bernice Opaczewski, Frances Bilinski, Rose Chodzinski, and an infant sister, Lottie; and four brothers, Ernest, Edward, Stazy Jr. and Louis Zelasko. Irene is survived by her son, Joseph (Judy) Alexander of Marietta, GA; her daughter, Judy (Lee) Van Paris of South Bend; two granddaughters, Tricia Williams and Amy Van Paris; two great-grandchildren, John Van Paris and Julia Williams; and by two brothers, Donald of South Bend and Albert of New Carlisle. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, December 7, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Rosary will take place at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, New Carlisle.
