The Bremen Enquirer - 17 May 1956, Page 4: Charles W. Schurr, sixty-nine years old, of R. R. 3, Nappanee, died at his home at eight o'clock Wednesday morning, May 16, from a sudden heart attack. He was a son of Gustave and Amelia (Sauer) Schurr and was born March 10, 1887, near Bremen. Mr. Schurr was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Madison Township schools for forty-four years. March 10, 1917, he was married to Christena Hunsberger, who survives. He leaves also two sons, Karl Schurr of Minneapolis, Minn., and Richard Schurr of Warsaw; one daughter, Jane Schurr at home; two sisters, Miss Pauline Schurr of South Bend and Mrs. Adam Beehler of Madison Township; and two brothers, Arnold and Herbert Schurr of Bremen. There are four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Huff Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock. Rev. Willis Woods of the Oak Grove United Missionary Church will officiate in the service and burial will be in the Bremen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home until the time of the service.
