Robert "Bob" C. Kalka, 83, of Butler, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 9, 2012 at 12:20 a.m. at the VNA Inpatient Hospice. He was born December 13, 1928 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Casimer Kalka and Clementine Urbanski Kalka. Mr. Kalka was a graduate Washington High School in South Bend, Indiana. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force serving in Korea during the Korean war. He was in the Nursing field at the VA Medical Center for 25 years, retiring in 1989. Mr. Kalka was a member of the American Legion Post #117. He enjoyed photography, fishing, bowling, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and reading. Mr. Kalka is survived by his loving wife,Vivian (Laterza) Kalka and his family, Gregory Kalka, David Kalka, Robert J. Kalka, all of Butler, PA and Amy Clause and her husband Francis of Boardman, OH; four grandchildren; Benjamin Kalka, Frances Clause, Francesca Clause and Elizabeth Kalka; one brother, Jim Kalka and his wife Retha of South Bend, IN; one sister, Rita Horvath of South Bend, IN; and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Thompson - Miller Funeral Home, Inc., 124 East North Street Butler, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Butler, PA. Interment will take place in the St. Michael's Cemetery with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Donations be made to St. Vincent DePaul, Food Bank, 146 North Monroe Street, Butler, PA 1600
