SOUTH BEND - Ray Rutkowski, 92, passed away on Thursday, July 12th. Survivors include his son, Alan, and daughter-in-law, Janet, their three children, Aaron, Jeffrey and Kelly; grand-daughter-in-law and wife of Jeff, Jenna; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10 to noon on Saturday, July 16, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home. A military burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

SOUTH BEND -South Bend, Indiana, 92, Ray Rutkowski , 92, passed away peacefully at Oakwood Village Assisted Living Facility in Madison, Wisconsin on July 12th, 2011. Ray was born on August 22nd, 1918 to Boleslaw and Mary (Kalka) Rutkowski in South Bend, Indiana. His brothers were Harry and Mathew, and sister was Gertrude (Wisniewski). He proudly served his country from 1941 to 1945 in the 20th Armored Division in the European theater. On June 3rd, 1950 he married Evelyn L. Glon in Terre Coupe, Indiana, and had two children, Janice and Alan. He lived in South Bend until 2007 when he moved to Madison, Wisconsin to be near his family. Raymond is survived by his son Alan and daughter-in-law Janet of Waunakee, Wisconsin, their three children Aaron, Jeffrey, and Kelly, grand daughter-in-law and wife of Jeff, Jenna, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Raymond retired from Sollitt Construction Company in 1982 after 36 years as Assistant Secretary. He was a former President of the Northern Indian Wholesale Grocery Company, former Vice President and Financial Secretary of St Joseph Young Men's Society, former Treasurer of Bowlers Country Club, and longtime member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Polish Roman Catholic Union Society, Pulaski Post #357, and the Mishawaka Eagles Club #2083. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm on Saturday, July 16, 2011 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd where a Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 12:30 pm in the Funeral Home.
