SOUTH BEND - South Bend - Janina “Jane” Krengel, 84, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 18, 2016 in her home. Jane was born May 15, 1932 in Pinsk, Poland to the late Andrew and Marciana (Cwental) Magierowski. On October 22, 1955 Jane married Chester Krengel on Oct. 22, 1955; he preceded her in death on July 29, 1980. Jane was also preceded in death by her brothers, Felix, Peter and Marion Magierowski. Survivors of Jane include her sisters, Genevieve Synnot of Australia, and Wanda Zmyslo of South Bend; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jane was a seamstress with Enchanted Cottage Bridal Shop. She was a devout Catholic and Parishioner of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Jane enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening and fishing with her husband. Most of all, she loved listening to Classical Music. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, Thursday, December 22, 2016 in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. is assisting the family with arrangements.
