PETER NOWACKI DIES AT AGE 66
St Hedwige’s Church Member Over 46 Years
Peter Nowacki, aged 66, of 213 South Walnut Street, a well known member of ST Hedwige’s Roman Catholic Church for 46 years, died at 9:55 o’clock Sunday night in his home following an illness of six months. Mr. Nowacki was born in Germany August 14, 1869, and married Miss Mary Anne Skibinska in that country November 25, 1888. A year later they emigrated to South Bend. For 30 years before his retirement 15 years ago, he was employed by the Oliver Farm Equipment Company, then known as the Oliver Chilled Plow Company, as molder. Surviving are the widow, Mary Anne Nowacki; seven children, Mrs. Max Schultz, Ferndale MI; Mrs. Peter Jaworski, Miss Harriet Nowacki, Frank, Sylvester, Alexander and Casimir Nowacki, all of South Bend; a brother and a sister in Germany, 19 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Rev. John S. Hosinski, pastor of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Otis IN, will be celebrant of a solemn high requiem mass at 9 o’clock Thursday morning in St Hedwige’s church. He is a first cousin of Mr. Nowacki. Assisting him will be Rev. Francis X. Luzny, CSC, pastor of St Hedwige’s church, and Rev. Sigmund A. Jankowski, CSC, assistant pastor. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
