SOUTH BEND - Lorraine E. Lekarczyk, 81, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, December 20, 2015, in Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. Lorraine was born on August 24, 1934, in South Bend, to Anthony and Henrietta (Slisz) Novinich, and was a lifelong resident. She had been employed for 30 years as a Billing/Receiving Clerk with South Bend Freight Lines. On September 17, 1955, in St. Adalbert Church, she married Jerome W. Lekarczyk, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, David (Michelle) Lekarczyk of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Andrew (Catherine) Lekarczyk of Mishawaka, Indiana; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert (Colleen) Novinich of Osceola, Indiana. Lorraine was preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Lekarczyk; and her brother, Anthony Novinich. A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. A visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Logan Industries or the Center for Hospice Care, Inc.
