MISHAWAKA - Jeanette Buda, 84, passed away peacefully at her home in Chula Vista, CA, on Sunday, February 7, 2016, surrounded by her family. She was born in Mishawaka on October 15, 1931, to Anna and Bruno Ostrowski. She earned her B.S. at Ball State University where she was a member of Delta Zeta Sorority. She resided in Mishawaka until 1966 when she moved with her family to Chula Vista, CA. She was a school teacher in Mishawaka and San Ysidro School District. She was a member of St. Rose of Lima Parish as well as the Ladies of Columbus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur J. Buda. Surviving are her children, Kevin (Diane) Buda of Mt. View, CA, Jody Bottger of Oceanside, CA, and Maureen (Oscar) Moreno of Chula Vista, CA; her grandchildren, Rebecca (Nate) Romero, Jeremy Bottger, Sophia Moreno; and great-granddaughter, Lillian Romero; sister, Suzanna Merrick of Springfield, IL; and niece, Melinda (Craig) Storie; son, Django of Evanston, IL. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka on May 28, 2016. Final inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jeanette Buda to the Alzheimer's Association , P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090.
