Thomas James Knoblock, 73, residing in Osceola, passed away at 5:13 am Sunday, January 24, 2016 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born November 9, 1942 in Mishawaka to the late Paul and Leona (Budzin) Knoblock, and remained a lifelong area resident. Thomas served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Germany between 1962-1965. On October 6, 1964 in Kerkrade, Holland, he married the former Trudy Jeha, who survives. Thomas is also survived by his daughter, Audrey (Rob) Murray of Granger; son, Mark (Tracy) Knoblock of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Aryelle and Nathan Murray and Nicholas Knoblock; and one sister, Pauline (Don) Scholer of Carmel, IN. He was preceded in death by another sister, Suzann Jaeger. Thomas enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting and was the biggest fan at his grandkids’ athletic events and activities. He spent a portion of the winter in Florida and made daily trips to the dog park with their beloved dog, Remi. Funeral services and military honors for Thomas will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be donated to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 2004 Ironwood Circle #140, South Bend, IN 46635 (or JDRF.org).
