South Bend - Irene J. Craft, 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday with her daughters by her side. Irene was born June 30, 1925 in South Bend to the late Paul and Stefania (Sakorski) Romanowski. On April 24, 1948 Irene married Frederick Craft, he preceded her in death on March 18, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Thomas & Theodore Romanowski; and a sister, Dorothy Romanowski. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Janet A. (Anthony) Kocjan, Sharon S. Craft, Susan M. Craft, and JoAnn M. Craft; 3 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. Irene was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. In her younger years she worked for South Bend Toy until dedicating her life to her family. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and her cats. She was an excellent Polish cook, her specialties were perogies and Polish soups. Irene loved her family and treasured the time she could spend with them. Her children meant the world to her. Due to current health risks, services will be private. A Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church with Entombment following at St. Joseph Cemetery.
