NEW CARLISLE - Clara J. Szarwark, 99, passed away at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2010, in Hamilton Grove. Clara was born on October 13, 1910, in South Bend, to the late Maxamillian and Frances (Poturalski) Ginter. In 1936 Clara married Joseph A. Szarwark, who passed away in 1971. Clara was also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Tobalski. Clara is survived by her daughters, Janet Adams and Trudy (Ron) Budzinski, all of South Bend; and son, Max (Esther) Szarwark of Downey, CA; and grandson, Aaron (Jennifer) Budzinski of South Bend. Clara was a parishioner at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church where she was a lifetime member of the Rosary Sodality. She was well-known for her cheesecakes, and she loved growing flowers. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 2, 2010, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010, in the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
