NILES - John Clarence Fedeli, Jr., age 65 years, of Niles, Michigan died on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Saint Joseph, Michigan following a brief illness. He was born April 27, 1948 in Niles to John & Ruth (Klopfenstein) Fedeli, Sr. John graduated from Buchanan High School in 1966 and has lived in the area all of his life. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era, serving in the United States Marine Corps. John was a member of Saint Mary Catholic Church in Niles, and a former member of the American Legion Post #26 in Niles. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. On May 1, 1995 in Niles, John married the former Lee Ann Carey, who survives along with children, Jaime Fedeli of Howard City, Michigan, Johna Saunders of Mishawaka, Indiana and Angela Heyne of New Brighton, Minnesota; grandchildren, Zachariah Fedeli, Renee Ann Gonzales, Juan Bautista, Austin Saunders, and Grace Heyne, and one great-grandson, Gabriel Bautista. John is also survived by his siblings, Dennis Fedeli of Florida, Terry (& Jennifer) Brown of Buchanan, James Brown of Jones, Michigan, Carol (& Glen) Pointer and Becky (& Richard) Martin, all of Niles; and by his step-mother Virginia Fedeli. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Michael Fedeli, who died in 1988. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Niles, by The Rev. David Otto of the parish. The service will conclude with military honors being given in the churchyard. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of services, at the church.
