[N5283] GRANGER -- Genevieve N. Underly, 86, of Glen Haven Drive, died at 4:40 p.m. Sunday (May 16, 2004) in Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born March 23, 1918, in South Bend to John and Rose (Nowak) Niedosik. On Sept. 9, 1952, she married James H. Underly in South Bend.
He survives along with a daughter, Sandra (John M.) Blair of Elkhart; three grandchildren; two sisters, Irene Buczynski and Gladys Kucharski, both of South Bend; and a brother, John Niedosik of Phoenix, Ariz. She was preceded in death by a son, Leonard Underly; two sisters, Helen Sieczkarek and Lillian Niedosik; and two brothers, Valentine Niedosik and Lucien Niedosik. There will be a parish rosary service at 4 p.m. today in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. An additional hour of visitation will be before the 10:30 a.m. Thursday service in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger. The Rev. William Schooler will officiate, and burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Mrs. Underly, a lifetime area resident, retired from Bendix Corp. in 1975 after 39 years as a grinder and piece parts assembler. She was a member of St. Pius X Church, St. Pius Women's Club, M.R.
