SOUTH BEND - Margaret "Marge" Zielinski, 77, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2008, in Regency Place of South Bend. Marge was born on June 13, 1930, in South Bend, to Andrew J. and Helen (Kazmierczak) Staszewski. On October 9, 1954, in St. Casimir Catholic Church, as Margaret Staszewski, she married Edward "Butch" Zielinski, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Dr. Anne (Ken) Marnocha of Zionsville, IN, Nancy Zielinski of Indianapolis, IN, Laurie Bauer of South Bend, IN, and Jennifer (John) Bentley of Mishawaka, IN; three sons, Andrew Zielinski of Naperville, IL, William (Patty) Zielinski of Niles, MI, and Edward (Jennifer) Zielinski of South Bend, IN; 12 grandchildren, Adam, Jason, Brian and Allison Marnocha; Sam, Elizabeth, Aaron and Bridget Bauer; Alex, Scott and Jack Zielinski; and Margaret "Maggie" Zielinski; one brother, Hilary (Selma) Staszewski of South Bend, IN; three sisters-in-law, Sally Staszewski, Eleanor Staszewski and Rita Zielinski, all of South Bend, IN; one brother-in-law, Tom (Fran) Zielinski of South Bend, IN; and by many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were two brothers, Chester and Edwin Staszewski; and one sister, Genevieve Hasten. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2008, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, where a combined parish and St. Casimir Senior Citizen Club Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 p.m. Marge was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish, Altar and Rosary Society and the Retirees Club. She was also a member of the St. Casimir Senior Citizens Club. Marge was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School where she sang in the choir. She married her husband Ed when she was 24 and they had a beautiful, loving life together. She enjoyed playing computer games and jigsaw puzzles. Marge was a wonderful seamstress and cook. She always cooked at family dinner on Sunday. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and was very proud of her family. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Church.
