SOUTH BEND - Irene M. Acrey, 95 years old, residing in South Bend, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, Indiana. She was born on September 27, 1920, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late Charles and Alverta (Keller) Grundy, and moved to South Bend in 1940. Irene is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Doug) Anderson of Punta Gorda, Florida; her son, Vince (Joyce) Bogunia of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Irene worked for many years at Uniroyal Corporation and was a member of the Uniroyal Retirees Club. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 22, 2016, at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM Monday until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Irene may be offered to Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545; or to Humane Society of St. Joseph County, 2506 Grape Road, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
