MISHAWAKA - Gerald Timothy Smolka, 41, of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2007, accidentally, being struck by an Amtrak train in Mishawaka. Tim was born on November 5, 1965, in South Bend, to Gerald and Jacquelin (Wolfe) Smolka. Tim is survived by two children whom he loved and cherished most deeply, a daughter Samantha, age 12, and a son, Noah Smolka, age four. Tim is also survived by his parents, Gerald and Sharon Smolka; his natural mother, Jacquelin Wolfe; two sisters, Anita Taylor and Jennifer Smolka, both of South Bend; and by a brother, Jeff Smolka of Mishawaka. Tim was preceded in death by a sister, Tammy Weidner, who passed away in 2005. Tim is survived by several aunts and uncles, Frank and Delores Wrobleski of South Bend, Shirley Jones, James and Rose Smolka, and Nancy Speakes, all of Mishawaka, Karen and Bill Schwartz of Granger, Rob and Jan Zelesko of Pendleton, IN, and Chris Marciniak of Osceola. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Private services with the immediate family only will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2007, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., with Rev. Ervin Mize officiating. Cremation has taken place.
