[N12285] Clara M. Naspinsky
Aug. 18, 1925 - Jan. 3, 2015
GRANGER - Clara Michalene Naspinsky, 89, of Granger, Indiana, died on January 3, 2015, at home. Born to Laura (Stachiewicz) and Anthony Topoleski on August 18, 1925, in Glassport, PA, one of nine children, having survived brothers: Frank (Mammy), Edward, Louis, and Francis (Picky); and sisters: Blanche Jarusinski, Theresa Naspinsky, Mary, and Ann. She kept her family and faith close to her heart which helped sustain her in working to provide for herself and her daughter, Frances Marie Holmes. She is survived by her daughter, Frances M., and son-in-law, John G. Holmes, with whom she resided; granddaughter, Laura C. Costello (Todd) of Richardson, TX; grandson, John Xavier Holmes (Carolyn Dana) of Louisville, KY; great-granddaughter, Meredith Claire Costello of Richardson, TX; great-grandson, Dashel Xavier Holmes of Louisville, KY; sister-in-law, Joanne Topoleski of Glassport, PA; and many loving nieces and nephews. She worked at several jobs including the glass factory in Glassport, PA, and Maracini's Market in White Oak, PA, where she enjoyed twenty-five years of employment and considered many of her associates as close as family. She was truly "her kid's mom," a term pegged by Dr. Laura Schlesinger for those single parents who put their children's well-being and comfort ahead of their own. She worked to provide for herself and her daughter and took an active part in her daughter's needs and interests. She was an excellent cook and baker of traditional Polish fare who tried to keep the extended family of nieces and nephews together as a family by continuing the holiday gatherings and traditions as her parents would have done. She was most grateful to the care given to her by Dr. Michael O'Connell, D.O., Dr. Sandra Cho, and Dr. Tricia Moreno who greatly improved the quality of her life; the kind attention and special care of her hairdresser, DeDe Hollingsworth, who lifted her spirits; and Karen Mack, who proved to be a wonderful backup caregiver for her family. She left her home of seventy years to join her daughter's family in Granger, IN, in 1995 and will return to Glassport, PA, to Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 640 Vermont Avenue, Glassport, PA 15045, where viewing will be from 2 4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, January 9th. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at her home parish, Queen of the Rosary, 530 Michigan Avenue, Glassport, PA 15045 where she received her sacraments. Mass will be celebrated at 10 o'clock on Saturday morning. She will be buried at Round Hill Cemetery near her brother, Ed, and sister-in-law, Joanne Topoleski. Bubb Funeral Home, Main Street in Mishawaka, will prepare the funeral arrangements before her final return "home." She was a parishioner of St. Pius X Parish in Granger, IN. In lieu of flowers or memorials, the family requests that you get together for dinner with your family and embrace them, or phone your extended family members who might be separated by miles to brighten their day by letting them know how deeply you care about them. Please pray or offer Masses for the repose of her soul or contribute to EWTN which provides many fine programs particularly enjoyed by the homebound so that they can participate in Masses, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and praying the Rosary. Address: EWTN, 5817 Old Leads Road, Irondale, AL 35210. She enjoyed her daughter's work in respect for life organizations, particularly the Apostolate of Divine Mercy in the Service of Human Life which oversees all of the wonderful prolife ministries at the Life Center at 2018 Ironwood Circle, South Bend, IN 46635.Published in South Bend Tribune on Jan. 7, 2015
