Bessie Nekvasil,67,passed away April 6,1949 at her home three miles southwest of Buchanan where she had been ill since Sunday after suffering a stroke. Mrs. Nekvasil was born Sept 28,1881 in Czechoslovakia and married there in June 1902 to Frank Nekvasil,who survives.They came to Buchanan from Charlevoix in 1925. She is survived by five daughters,Mrs.Anna Gravelin,Grand Rapids,MI,Mrs. Glenn Phillipi,Baroda,,Mrs. Thomas Kenton,Dowagiac,Mrs. Clarennce Eckler,Buchanan and Mrs. Frank Fleck of New Buffalo.Five sons:Paul of New Buffalo,Joseph of Buchanan,Frank Jr. of Bridgman,Louis of Niles and James of Galien,MI.33 Grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Swem Funeral Home with the Rev. Frederic Williams pastor of the First Congregational Church at Bridgman officiating.
Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery Buchanan,MI
