SISTER LAKES -- Angelo Spinazze, 92, of Sister Lakes, passed away March 6, 2002, at his winter residence in Boca Raton, Fla. Angelo was born June 19, 1909, in Colle Umberto, Italy, the son of Paulo and Maria (DeNardi) Spinazze. He had lived in Sister Lakes for the past 51 years. He was a charter member of the Sister Lakes Lions Club, a life member of the Dowagiac Elks, a member of Silver Creek Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church and a member of the Enology Society of California. Prior to his retirement, he was manager and vice president at Bronte Winery in Keeler. Angelo was the "Grand Marshall" in the Michigan Grape and Harvest Festival Parade in 1982. United FCU Instory 60630575 Angelo's passion for life and his love of family will forever be an inspiration to those who have known him. Surviving is his loving wife of 63 years, Ernestine (Manzon). Also surviving are his son and daughter-in-law Gerry and Bonnie Spinazze of Chicago; daughter and son-in-law Lynne and Tom Sims of Kalamazoo, and son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Nancy Spinazze of Arlington Heights, Ill.; grandchildren -- Angela Spinazze of Chicago, Russell and wife Cheryl Spinazze of Bartlett, Ill., Julie and husband Greg Root of Oak Park, Ill., Lisa Spinazze of San Francisco, Todd Sims of Kalamazoo, Tara Sims of Walnut Creek, Calif., Mark Spinazze of Chicago, Jaime and Annie Spinazze of Arlington Heights, Ill.; great-grandchildren -- Caleb Sims of Kalamazoo, Gabriella and Domenic Spinazze of Bartlett, Ill.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Groner Funeral Home, 301 Main St., Dowagiac, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home Monday at 9:30 a.m. and will proceed to Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 51841 Leach Road, Silver Creek, where Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be directed to Sister Lakes Lions Club.
