SOUTH BEND - Lucille P. Kujawski, 88, of South Bend, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2010, in the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. She was born on March 10, 1921, in South Bend, to the late Joseph and Pauline (Kubiak) Laskowski, and was a lifelong area resident. On October 12, 1946, as Lucille P. Laskowski, she married Edward A. Kujawski, who preceded her in death on January 1, 2001. Lucille is survived by her daughters, Julie Bussert and Kathy Farthing, both of South Bend, and Patricia (Mike) Quackenbush of Round Rock, TX; her sons, Paul (Cindy) of South Bend, Tim (Barb) of Edwardsburg, MI, and William (Priscilla) of Beaumont, TX; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Joan Bleck of Truth or Consequences, N.M.; and a sister-in-law, Loretta Laskowski of South Bend. Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Gertrude Kaminski, Dorothy Walkowiak and Elaine Gary, and by a brother, Joseph Laskowski. Lucille was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church and was a charter member of the St. Hedwig Altar and Rosary Society. She loved to play bingo and played once a week for over 60 years. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today, February 28, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a family-led Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, March 1, 2010, in Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 Ironwood Road, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility, 20531 Darden Road, South Bend, IN 46637; or to the Alzheimer's Association , 50 E 91st, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
