Carl Albert Teifke of Buchanan, passed away on May 12, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph of natural causes. Carl was born December 5, 1933 in Stevensville, MI to Carl & Lizzie (Loraff) Teifke, who both have preceded him in death. Carl was a US Army veteran, a lifetime area resident and a member of the Baroda American Legion Post 345. He worked as a farmer and later owned the Wolverine Gardens of Glendora. On July 11, 1959 in Berrien Springs, he married Janet Reisig, who survives. Surviving family include his wife, Janet Teifke of Buchanan; three sons, Robert “Bob” Teifke, Richard Teifke and Dave Teifke, all of Buchanan; one daughter, Diane (Jerry) Serry of New Carlisle, IN; and four granddaughters. No services will be held. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations can be made to the donor’s choice.
