Ignatius Kujawski, 54, died 4/12/1900 from consumption
(Interment record, St Hedwig Catholic Church, South Bend, St. Joseph Co., IN)

The Bremen Enquirer, Bremen, Marshall Co., IN reported his death, referring to him as Frank Kuskye,* a well known Polish resident, 54, residing four miles northwest of Bremen, near Lake of the Woods. His survivors included a wife and ten children; none were named. His remains were taken to South Bend for a funeral in a Catholic church.
*a surname also used by some of his children

Ignatius's children's marriage records that occurred after 1900, identify his wife's, their mother's, maiden name as Frances Egierski.

The 1900 census of North Township, Marshall Co., IN listed Frances Kuskye, 40, a widow and a farmer. The census indicates she had been married 23 years, and had had eleven children, ten living, seven living with her: Dillon 16 [Helen B.?], Maxie 15, Andrew/Anthony 11, Clara 9, John 7, Joseph 5, and Edna/Elizabeth 2. Celia, 19, was not listed in the household but is known to be a daughter from her 1901 Marshall County marriage record. Bert Kuskye, 23, who was living in nearby Bremen in 1900, and who had married there in 1899, may have been a son.

According to the 1910 census, Frances Kujawski, 52, was then living in South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. Five of her children were living with her. Frances died in South Bend in 1930, and according to the Cedar Grove Cemetery lot cards, she was laid to rest in the same lot as her husband and two of their children. She has no grave marker.
