Natalie Simeri Ruscio
Sept. 5, 1920 - Aug. 12, 2010

SOUTH BEND - Natalie Simeri Ruscio, 89, of South Bend, passed away on Thursday, August 12th, at 9:15 p.m. in the Regency Place of South Bend after an extended Illness. Natalie was born September 5, 1920, to the late Louis and Rose (Linarello) Simeri in Gioiosa Jonica, Reggiio Calabra, Italy.

Our grandfather came here first on the long journey to this beautiful land called the United States of America. After he secured a home for them, the rest of the family immigrated to the United States in 1929.

On August 10, 1945, she was united in holy matrimony to Anthony Ruscio, who passed away on October 29, 2008.

In her younger years, Natalie worked at a local sewing factory and was a hostess at Mark's Restaurant. She was a generous person who would give to anyone and everyone who visited her home. She was so willing to share or give you anything she had.

Natalie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and by a sister, Carmella Rappelli.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Grace (Ernie) Keresztes, and a son, Louis A. Ruscio, both of South Bend; two loving grandchildren, Michael A. (Lourdes) Kereszies of New Braunfels, TX, and Ernest (Lori) Keresztes II of Fort Wayne, IN; four wonderful, loving, great-grandchildren, Julia Grace, Danielle Ann, Ethan Michael and Noah Anthony Keresztes; a sister, Julia Ameduri; and a brother, Joseph (Mary) Simeri.

As a member of St. Joseph's Parish, our mother believed in God but had so many health issues here on earth. We pray for her eternal peace and happiness, and we thank her for the gift of life she gave us. God grant me the Serenity to accept The things I cannot change... Courage to change the things I can and Wisdom to know the difference. God Bless you Natalie!! Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 16, in Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend. Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. Funeral service will take place Tuesday, August 17, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, with Fr. John Patrick Riley officiating. Burial to follow at Highland Cemetery. PLEASE, in lieu of flowers, make all memorial contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Church of South Bend, located at 211 N. St. Louis Street, South Bend, IN 46617; to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637; or to the donor's choice. The HANLEY AND SONS "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and extends its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Ruscio family.
