LAPORTE - Adeline E. Macalka, 92, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Adeline was born May 8, 1924, in South Bend, Indiana, to Julian and Amelia (Kalinski) Bilinski, both who have preceded her in death. She was a homemaker. On May 14, 1960, Adeline married Walter Macalka, who preceded her in death on March 6, 2005. Adeline leaves behind one son, James Macalka of LaPorte, Indiana; one daughter, Lisa M. Macalka of Dublin, California; one sister, Pauline (David) Koehler of South Bend, Indiana; a brother-in-law, Eugene Karczewski of South Bend, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary Machulis, Alice Mejer and Emily Karczewski; and two brothers, Carl and Harry Bilinski.Adeline was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of LaPorte, Indiana, Polish Falcons Nest #564 of LaPorte, Indiana, Polish Falcons Nest #200 of South Bend, Indiana, where she was honored with the Polish Falcons of America Legion of Honor Gold Cross, Z.B. Falcon Conservation Club of South Bend, Indiana, LaPorte Democratic Civic Club, LaPorte County Home Extension Club, former La Porte Hospital Auxiliary volunteer, a member of the Red Hatters, Firecrackers Fillies Chapter, and PI EPSILON KAPPA Sorority, ALPHA OMICRON Chapter. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2016, at the Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, ESSLING CHAPEL, 1117 Indiana Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana, where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and a Falcon Legion of Honor service will follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaPorte, Indiana. Family and friends may gather at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, ESSLING CHAPEL, 1117 Indiana Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana, prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to Polish Falcons Scholarship Program or the St. Vincent De Paul Society of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 āCā Street, LaPorte, Indiana 46350.
