Clem S. Huryn, 92, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 4:50 a.m. in Franciscan St. Anthony Health - Michigan City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Queen of All Saint's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery with full military services conducted by the American Legion Skwiat Post 451 and the VFW 2536. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN. He was born December 15, 1918 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Frank and Helen (Kaminski) Huryn, Sr. On September 9, 1950 in Michigan City, IN he married Natalie M. Levendoski who preceded him on April 3, 2005. Surviving are 2 daughters, Carol (David) Kolodziejski of Michigan City, IN, and Linda Huryn of Michigan City, IN; sister, Magaret Biederstadt of Michigan City, IN; brother, Walt Huryn of Trail Creek, IN; and 2 granddaughters, Laura and Christine Kolodziejski, both of Michigan City, IN. He was preceded in death by 4 sisters, Mamie Goede, Gertrude Barth, Bernice Wojciechowski, and Lena Glover; and 4 brothers, Floyd, Frank Jr., Edward, and John Huryn. He was a coal handler at the NIPSCO Bailey Generating Station and a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Queen of All Saint's Catholic Church, American Legion Skwiat Post 451, VFW 2536, DAV Chapter 23, St. Joseph Young Men's Society, and the Moose Family Center 980. He was a devoted husband, father, and a gentle loving grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
