The above birth date is from the Application for Marriage License for his second marriage and the death date is from his Certificate of Death. The 1900 federal census for Olive Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, indicates that Jozef Niespodziany and his wife were both born in Poland, he in February of 1846 and she in September of 1850. The census also indicates that they both immigrated in 1874, and they had been married for 28 years, and that the wife had 10 children of whom 8 were living. Four children were living with them in 1900. They were, in birth order: Michael, Isaac, John, and Ida (aka Angela). When John was married in April of 1910, and Angela in October of 1910, they both listed their mother's maiden name as "Mary Duszynska". After the death of his wife in 1909 Jozef married Mary Krakowska in 1910 in St. Joseph County, Indiana.
