SOUTH BEND - Adeline Nemeth, 84, passed away at 3:40 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2011, in her residence. Adeline was born on September 1, 1927, in South Bend, to the late John and Florence (Niespodziany) Nakapala. On July 15, 1961, she married George Nemeth, who preceded her in death on February 15, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Nakapala; her uncle, Jacob Nakapala; and her brother-in-law, Stanley Kandzierski. She is survived by her sister, Virginia Kandzierski of South Bend; niece, Judy (Richard Troutman) Kandzierski; nephew, Robert (Tena) Kandzierski of South Bend; great-nieces, Melanie Kandzierski of Norcross, GA, Andrea (Ryan) Romig of New Carlisle, Rebekah Kandzierski of Norcross, GA, Marci (Andy) Grolemund of South Bend, Kathryn Kandzierski of South Bend, Deborah Kandzierski of South Bend and Stephanie Kandzierski of South Bend; great-nephew, Christopher Kandzierski of South Bend; great-great-nieces, Faith Kandzierski of Norcross, GA, Vanessa Kandzierski of South Bend and Aryanna Grolemund of South Bend; great-great-nephew, Aiden Grolemund of South Bend. Adeline enjoyed playing Bingo and Bunko with her great-nieces and nephews, and putting together Wysocki puzzles, listening to her favorite Johnny Cash, Marty Robins, The Oak Ridge Boys, Theresa Brewer and Gospel Music. She also enjoyed feeding the birds, photography, and shopping with her nieces and nephews. Adeline retired in 1982, after 36 years of service from Indiana Bell as a telephone operator. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America and PNA 83. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care for their excellent care of Adeline. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Adeline's name may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm on Thursday, October 20, 2011, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Condolences may be made to www.sjfh.net.
