MISHAWAKA - Sandra “Sandy” L. Whisman, 68, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sandy was born on December 29, 1949 in South Bend to Vincent and Clementine (Balcerzak) Smudzinski. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Terry and Lonnie. Surviving are her brother, Gregory; children, Keith (Darlene) Whisman of Greenwood, Tim (Tresur) Whisman of Mishawaka, Michelle (Brian) Hall of Fishers, and Lisa (Jerren) McQuaid of Noblesville; grandchildren, Sarah Whisman, Connor Whisman, Hayden Whisman, Kayla Whisman, Dawson Whisman, Reygan Hall, Mataya Hall, Maverick McQuaid, and Mosley McQuaid; and the love of her life, James “JB” Thompson. Sandy enjoyed auctions and garage sales; if there was ever a good deal out there, she would find it (or at least think it was a good deal). She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 11 from 2 to 4 in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
