SOUTH BEND - South Bend - Sabina “Sally” M. Borkowski, 84, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 in the Sanctuary at St. Paul's. Sally was born April 18, 1932 in South Bend to the late Vincent and Michaline (Kaczmarek) Wawrzyniak. On October 6, 1962 Sally married Walt Borkowski he preceded her in death on May 29, 2005. Sally was also preceded in death by her sisters, Elenor Kubasik, Stella Jankowski; brothers, Lucian and Edwin Wawrzyniak; nephews William Pajakowski and James Jankowski; and daughter-in-law Rachel Borkowski. Survivors of Sally include her children, Jennifer (Steve) Roschek; Jeffrey Borkowski of Idaho Falls, ID, and Christopher Borkowski; sisters, Irene Pajakowski, Sister M. Louisa, Jane Woltman; and a grandson, Max Lucas Borkowski. Sally retired in 2002 from South Bend Community School Corporation food and nutrition services. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church where she was member of the Sisters Auxiliary and a parish event cook. Sally enjoyed baking, working at her church, playing cards, watching Jeopardy and the Wheel of Fortune. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Sally always made those who visited her feel like they were her family. Visitation for Sally is 4:00pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 5:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am in the Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Burial will follow at St Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Adalbert Catholic Church, 2505 W. Grace St., South Bend, Indiana 46619.Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
