Mr. Stanley A. Osowski, 91, formerly of S. Dundee Street, South Bend, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at 8:40 p.m. at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. He was born May 8, 1913, in East Hampton, Mass., to Francis and Mary Ann (Grochowski) Osowski. He was a member of St. Adalbert's Church, Polish National Alliance 83, Fraternal Order of Eagles, where he was bowling secretary for 35 years, St. Joseph Young Men's Club, Polish Roman Catholic Union, and played in the Studebaker Golf League. He had worked at South Bend Toy Co., Studebakers, Bell Printing in Elkhart and retired from Schillings Printing. On Nov. 28, 1934, he married Martha Stazkiewicz, who died Dec. 28, 1995. Surviving are his wife, Bernadette; one daughter, Mary Jane (Marvin) Kafka, of Sparta, Tenn.; three sons, Joseph F. (Gloria) and Michael P. (Catherine), both of South Bend, and Thomas W., (Barbara) of Walkerton; 13 grandchildren, Kristopher, Kenneth and Kellen Kafka; Jennifer Short, and Francine, Tracy Jo, Steven, Sandra, Susan, Nicole, David, Alexandra and Mary Osowski; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Kuminecz of Orchard Park, N.Y., and Bernice Eitler of South Bend; and two brothers, Theophil (Tuffy) and Matthew, both of South Bend.The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Adalbert's Church. Friends may call at the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend, Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m., where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
