Bruno Leonard Rydwelski, 87, of 509 Ship Street, St. Joseph, Mich., died of natural causes at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 29, in his home. He was born on Oct. 5, 1918, in Chicago, and had lived in St. Joseph for over 50 years. He was a U.S. Army WW II veteran, a charter member of Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Bridgman, MI, was an avid Notre Dame fan and longtime farmer. He retired from Clark Equipment Co., Buchanan. On Feb. 15, 1941, in Chicago, he married Dorothy Ann Molenda, who preceded him in death in 2001. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Rydwelski in 2003.
He is survived by a son, John (Donna) Rydwelski of Buchanan; three grandsons, John (Mindy), Brian (Kristina) and Joseph (Tiffany) Rydwelski; and by seven great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic
Church, St. Joseph, with Father Christian Johnston of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be at Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda, MI. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, where a Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Home, St. Joseph, Mich.
