ELKHART - Alan Lynn Hahaj Sr., 56, passed away after an extended illness on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. Alan was born May 31, 1961 to the late John R. and Ruth C. Hahaj Sr. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Hahaj. Alan is survived by his sons, Branden (Jessica) Hahaj & Alan Hahaj Jr.; daughter, Nicole Hahaj; grandchildren, Landon James, and Mariana & Rose Getz; brother, John (Sue) Hahaj; sister, Diana (Hahaj) McKeown; nieces, Theresa (Michael) Turbyfill, Cecilia Hahaj, and Crystal (Shean) Gleason; and nephews, Paul (Dawn) Leslie and Nicolas (Christine) Hahaj. Alan proudly served his country in the United States Airforce. He was a fun, kind, intelligent, physically active person. In his younger years he “Aced” Trigonometry, learned karate, built model airplanes, played football and all brass instruments. Alan later taught his sons how to play the trombone and passed his “Trig” skills onto his daughter. He was a welder and built gas engine airplanes. He enjoyed fishing, games, jokes, laughter, and his favorite activity, skydiving. Alan loved God, his country and his family very much. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
