SOUTH BEND - Clement R. Solmos (Chub), 80, passed away in his home at 8:50 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011. Clement was born November 28, 1931, in South Bend, to the late Joseph and Dorothy (Witucki) Solmos. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joe Solmos. On September 26, 1953, Clement married Adeline (Rzepka), who survives along with son, Scott (Patricia) Solmos of New Carlisle; daughter, Jody (Tom Williams) Solmos of Plymouth; grandchildren, Rebekah (Richard) Love, Rachel Solmos, Wes Solmos; great-grandchildren, Jaden Love, Logan Love and Greyson Love. Clement honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from Bendix in January 1988. He was an avid Notre Dame fan. He enjoyed fishing, and dedicated his time to see all of his grandchildren sporting events, videotaping all of them. He never met a stranger; he was always willing to lend a hand to everyone. A special thanks to the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care for all their wonderful care. The memorial service will be Saturday, December 17, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., St. Hedwig Catholic Church. ST.
