Mrs. Stella Deka. Mrs. Stella Deka, 84, resident of the Cardinal Nursing Home, died at 5:45 p.m. Friday after an extended illness. She was born Oct. 19, 1884, in South Bend. Her husband, Leo, died August 07, 1947. Surviving are two sons, Leo J. of Niles, and Casimir A. of South Bend.; a daughter, Miss Loretta Deka of South Bend; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Casimir and Bert Gadacz, both of South Bend. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Kaniewski and Sons Funeral Home. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Rev. John J. Jakubielski, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Mrs. Deka was a member of the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary, the Apostleship of Prayer, and of Group 21, Daughters of Poland, Polish Women's Alliance. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Stella Gadacz and Leon W. Deka did not have any children by their union in marriage. However, Stella had three children by her previous marriage to Frank E. Labuzienski - Helen M., Joseph F. and Henry A. Labuzienski.
