SOUTH BEND - Virginia M. Cossel , 63, of West Washington Street, died at 8:34 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness. Mrs. Cossel was born Aug. 1, 1931, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. On May 1, 1966, in South Bend, as Virginia Lang, she married Charles J. Cossel . He died Jan. 24, 1987. She is survived by three daughters, Karen J. Palmer of Rochester and Nancy A. Wachowiak and Nora J. Cossel , both of South Bend; a son, Matthew J. of South Bend; and two brothers, Eugene Lang of South Bend and Larry Shannon of Osceola. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or Diabetes Association.
