Roger D Huneryager, 85, of Granger Indiana passed away May 8, 2022.Roger was born in Elkhart Indiana to Paul and Thelma (Brown) Huneryager on October 2, 1936. On June 3, 1961 he married Crystal Matz. They were married for 49 years until her death in 2010. Surviving are son Eric (Donna) Huneryager of Peru Indiana, grandchildren Paul (Abby) Huneryager of Denver Indiana, Holly Huneryager of Westfield Indiana, and Brother Thomas Huneryager of Goshen Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Kenneth Huneryager and Joan (Wayne) Staley. Roger graduated from Elkhart High School in 1954. He served in the United State Army stationed at the Port of Whittier Alaska. He graduated from Ball State University in 1961 with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. From 1961 until retirement in 1990 he was a Special Agent in the Criminal Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service. He was assigned to the Federal Drug Trask force in South Bend Indiana from 1984 to 1990. Roger was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures gardening, fishing, sharing a drink with friends, and attending grandchildren’s activities. He was a man of integrity, honesty and honor. A celebration of life will be held at Pasquale Rulli’s restaurant 904 Division Street, Mishawaka, Indiana on June 11, 2022 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers or donations go fishing or share a fine meal with loved ones reflecting on the joy of the moment. Arrangements have been entrusted to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home.
