Brother Leonard Victor Nowaczewski, OFM, 63, of Philadelphia, Pa., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, Jan. 9, in Philadelphia. He was born in South Bend on Nov. 1, 1938, to the late George and Lottie Nowaczewski. He was also preceded in death by a brother, George, and a sister, Mary McNeil. Brother Leonard is survived by two brothers, Michael and Stanley of South Bend; and by a sister, Marguerite Saul of Texas.
He was a high school teacher and a basketball coach at St. Boneventure, located in Sturtevant, Wis. Later in his career he was transferred to Philadelphia where he taught at Bishop Ryan High School. Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be on Monday, Jan. 14, in Pulaski, Wis.
