South Bend - Ursula, 96, passed away at home on Friday, April 23, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Ursula was born July 27, 1924 in Cicero, IL to the late Joseph and Jessie (Zebrowski) Losos. On June 26, 1948 Ursula married Leonard Sharafinski, he preceded her in death, along with her sister, Nathalie Stewart; and brother, Joel Losos. Left to cherish the memory of Ursula is her daughter, Susan Miller; grandchildren, Traci Miller, M. Ryan Miller; great-grandchildren, Derreck, Danyalle, Dalynn, Danaye, Dalayna, & Devyn Hamilton; great-great grandchildren, Decarlo, Drue, & Rose; sister, Kathleen (Ed) McDonald; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and special friends, Celeste, Rita, & Ellie. Ursula graduated from St. Valentines Elementary School and Morton High School in Berwyn, IL. She proudly served her country in the United States Navy from 1944 - 1946 stationed in Coronado Island, CA., then continued her service in the Navy Reserves until 1949. She was a member of the Military Women Across the Nation, WAVES National Women of the Sea Services, the American Legion, and the Harvest House at St. Adalbert Catholic Church. She worked as a respiratory therapist for many years at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center until retiring. Ursula enjoyed playing Bingo, shopping, especially at TJ Maxx, and loved animals. She contributed to many pet organizations and visited the animals when she could. Ursula was a hard worker, devoted housewife, and loving mother and grandmother. A special thanks to Southern Care Hospice for the kindness and care given to Ursula. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, Mayflower Rd. A Funeral Service with take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 29, 2021 in the Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Pet Refuge or Veterans of Foreign Wars or the Military Honor Park. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
