Susan M. Lentine Freitag
Sept. 4, 1949 - July 25, 2017
MISHAWAKA - Susan M. Lentine Freitag, 67, was surrounded by her beloved family when she closed her eyes, and passed peacefully into the care of our Lord in Heaven on July 25th. Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Anne Lentine, grandson, Tyler Beemer and countless friends and family who will greet her on the other shore. Sue left behind her companion and love, “Lucky” David Alson of Mishawaka. Sue is survived by her five children: Kim Fine of Mishawaka, Kristin Klodzinski of Mishawaka, Troy (Lori) Freitag of Mishawaka, her twins, Ryan (Dee) and Adam (Cassie) Freitag of Mishawaka and her beloved cousin, like a sister, Kathy Yazel of Mishawaka. Sue is also survived by her grandchildren, Kassi Beemer, Gabrielle Klodzinski, Raegan Freitag, Brooke Brewer, Brayden Freitag, and Nevan Freitag. Sue was loved by everyone who knew her; she had a tremendous gift that she passed on to her children, that being to make friends wherever she went; she had a genuine concern for others that drew people to her. Sue was a lifelong fan of the Cubbies and the Fighting Irish and was always ready to go to her grandchildren's games. She loved the beach and sunsets. Sue did not have a lot of money, a grand house or a fancy car. What she had made her richer than most, a genuine love of life, right up until the end, she was at a granddaughter's graduation, and another granddaughter's baby shower. We know she was looking forward to a son getting married and the family knows she was with them, not letting Death stand in the way of being there for one of her kids. Sue is that type of woman, a rare gem who created a legacy of simple love and acceptance that will carry on in the lives of anyone who knew her. She worked at Hacienda for 25 years and could have retired years ago but that was not Sue; she loved the people there, the customers, and if you knew her, you were like family. As we celebrate Susan's life you are invited to stop by any time on Monday, July 31 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka and share a memory. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 1 at 10:30 a.m., in St. Monica's Catholic Church, 222 W. Mishawaka Ave., Mishawaka. Cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you make a donation in her name to RiverBend Cancer Services, 3516 E.
