SOUTH BEND - Eleanor M. Rzepka, 84, of Hamilton Grove Communities, passed away at 2:43 am, Thursday, June 7, 2012, in River Crest Hospital, Mishawaka. Eleanor was born in Bronson, MI on June 28, 1927 to the late Henry and Marie Ciganek Herman. On September 30, 1950 in Bronson, MI, Eleanor married David J. Rzepka; he preceded her in death on May 14, 2009. Eleanor was also preceded in death by her stepmother, Mary Herman, who raised her from the age of 3; sisters-in-law, Henrietta (Stanley) Bazak, Irene (Stanley) Wojcik and Elaine Rzepka; and brothers-in-law, Henrick "Hank" Rzepka, Bernard "Jake" Rzepka, and Clem "Chubb" Solmos. Eleanor is survived by her son, Larry (Denise) Rzepka of South Bend; grandchildren, Justin and Ashley Rzepka of South Bend; brother, Roger (Shirley) Herman of Bronson, MI; sisters-in-law, Adeline Solomos, Phyllis Rzepka and Betty Rzepka; and by her brothers-in-law, Clem Rzepka and Norbert (Elaine) Rzepka. Eleanor was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a homemaker, enjoyed crocheting, and spending time with her family. Eleanor's grandchildren were the joy of her life. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday, June 10, 2012 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. where a Rosary will be prayed at 3:00 pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, June 11, 2012 in the Funeral Home. Entombment will take place in Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum, St. Joseph Cemetery.
